## What ADA-USD actually is
ADA-USD is the ADA token of the Cardano network, quoted/denominated in US dollars. The "-USD" is simply the quote currency of the trading pair and is not part of the coin's name. ADA is a Layer-1, proof-of-stake smart-contract platform built on peer-reviewed academic research, using a two-layer architecture (payments vs. smart contracts), a reserve/treasury staking model, and a 45-billion-ADA max supply.
