## 1. What Is ATOM?

Cosmos Hub (ATOM) is the flagship proof-of-stake chain of the Cosmos ecosystem and the monetary/governance asset behind the Hub, Interchain Security (ICS), IBC routing, and the Atom Economic Zone thesis. The Interchain Foundation, a Swiss non-profit, coordinates funding for the core stack.
