## What BLAST‑USD Is

BLAST‑USD is the price of **BLAST** quoted in USD, where BLAST is the governance token of **Blast**, an EVM‑compatible optimistic rollup (an OP Stack fork) built on Ethereum. Blast's differentiator was "native yield": bridged ETH automatically earned Lido staking yield and bridged stablecoins became USDB earning MakerDAO DSR rates. Network gas fees were paid in ETH, **not BLAST**, so the token's utility was governance‑only even when the chain was live.
