## Context: What KCS-USD Is

KCS (KuCoin Token), originally launched as "KuCoin Shares" in 2017, is the native utility token of the KuCoin centralized exchange. It began as an ERC-20 token on Ethereum and now also runs natively on the KuCoin Community Chain (KCC), where it serves as the gas/validator-staking token.
