## What SOXL is (the fund, not a company)

SOXL (Direxion Daily Semiconductor Bull 3X Shares) is a leveraged ETF, not an operating business. It seeks **daily** results equal to 300% (3x) of the daily performance of the NYSE Semiconductor Index (also cited as the ICE Semiconductor Index, i.e. the SOX) — a modified float-adjusted market-cap-weighted benchmark of the 30 largest US-listed semiconductor companies [DOC-1], [DOC-2], [DOC-15]. It launched March 11, 2010 and is sponsored/managed by Direxion [DOC-17], [DOC-19], [DOC-22]. As of early October 2026 it held roughly $21.5–24 billion in assets [DOC-17], [DOC-19], [DOC-22].
