What BARD actually is

BARD is the native governance and utility token of the Lombard protocol, which describes itself as building the infrastructure to bring Bitcoin onchain and monetize "unproductive" Bitcoin through lending, yield, and collateral products [DOC-2], [DOC-3], [2]. The token has a fixed supply of 1 billion, exists only on Ethereum mainnet, and was designed to "power growth, govern the protocol, and enable access to Lombard's products and infrastructure" [DOC-2], [6].
