What DNT (district0x) Is

DNT is the ERC-20 governance token of district0x, a platform launched in February 2017 by Joe Urgo and Matus Lestan that lets anyone deploy their own decentralized marketplace or community ("district") on Ethereum, governed by a DAO. The technology stack runs on Ethereum (hosting transactions via smart contracts), Aragon (the DAO governance layer), and IPFS (decentralized hosting of frontend code and content) [2]. DNT is staked into a district to obtain voting rights over governance decisions (features, fees, direction) and to help curate the District Registry [2][3].
