What FLR-USD Is

FLR is the native token of Flare Network, an EVM-compatible Layer 1 blockchain that brands itself as "the blockchain for data" — providing protocol-level data acquisition and cross-chain verification (essentially an on-chain oracle/data layer) rather than relying on third-party oracles [3], [6], [DOC-1]. Its current strategic thesis is XRPFi, the effort to bring XRP into DeFi without moving it off the XRP Ledger, via the FAssets protocol and FXRP (a tokenized, overcollateralized representation of XRP) [4], [12].
